Members of my class will know that I’ve been threatening for a while now to redo the videos of my forms again, and at last I’ve finally got round to doing it. The reason for this new batch is that whenever I looked at the original ones, I could see elements of my forms that I now do differently, maybe because I’ve corrected small errors or have just slightly changed the way that I move. Either way, I couldn’t very well point my class members to my videos for reference if I’m doing what I tell them not to!
So here they are, newly recorded videos of parts 1, 2 and 3 of the classical Yang form, and also the Jian. I’ve also added videos of two forms that I’ve not posted before, the Dao, and a staff weapon form that my instructor and I adapted from a video by Sifu Amin Wu.
I’d like to think the new videos look a little better than the old ones, and though I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the forms are necessarily better, I think they have definitely evolved.
